And so, Investiture was Wednesday. Was never looking forward to it in the first place..
Invest meant that our term as 9th councillors end, and the 10th council steps up in office.
I was telling people that we'd be emotional and cry and stuff like that,
Much Indeed.

Sadly, I was writing some messages for the 9/10th till 4plus on Wednesday morning, and i fell asleep. I suddenly woke up when it was 6.20am. OMG! LATE! SHIT! So off i ran to do everything and i cabbed to school. Freak hell. I spent 19bucks and some cents for the entire journey, and i still reached school later than we're supposed to. Stupid rain, stupid tree that got uprooted, stupid accidents that occurred on the highway..

And so, invest came. didnt really feel much during rehearsal, but when the actual thing started.. tears just welled up in my eyes when we were waiting to go out onto the stage, the last final time, to be presented as the 9th Student Council.

Nonetheless, tried to control those tears, so was trying all ways to bite my lips la.. think of smth funny la..
talks that followed were okay.. except the boring parts (every talk has its moments) I really thought through all the events that we've organised when Mrs Tan talked about us surpassing the 8th.. But there was no mood to cry then.

Eric's and Park's video turned out fine i guess, quite emo and i was crying on the inside when i saw the scene of councillors cleaning up the council room and the removing of badges at the end of the video. "Let it go" is, i swear, such an EMO song, so powerful so impactful.

Singing "I will remember" in front of the whole J1 population was an emotional moment. Couldnt sing properly.. and i kept looking down to the floor, instead of to the 10th councillors, coz it was malu in some sense to be crying and singing the song in front of them. I mean, yeah, it's okay you might say, but then i just felt that crying there, on stage, at that time was rather malu-vating. So again, tried to hold back tears, and was rather successfull..

After invest, we had this 'sitting-in-a-circle-and-singing-songs-and-saying-anything-you-want' session. we started by singing "i will remember", then the "council song" and so on.. Hua shared about her experience with us.. and i just looked down; thinking about those moments. I didnt cry surprisingly then.. eventhough others were all tearing already.

Not till later, when suddenly, it struck me.

Couldn't hold those tears anymore. So just let it roll..
and we really cried our hearts out!!
Was telling huahui about how..
we won't be calling each other to confirm monthly planners..
No more agenda to be typed out..
No more GMs in the first place..
No more MEXCO bonding sessions...
No more...

we talked about the times in SYC, in TBC, in council as a whole..
and the whole time, i was crying really hard...
and so, when we cooled down, after laughing about the funny Nicholas on a bike moment..
i thought that was the end of all those tears..
But no.

Went back to the backstage of the hall, where our bags were and was packing all the gifts and cards that i got from you guys.. it was a tough time for me there, serious! I can't remember, but someone asked me, "rekha, how are you?" And that itself, was enough to trigger the rolling down of tears and i burst into cries again. Thanks guys for comforting me.. people all say that i cry so easily. Yes, indeed, im like some emotional, super soft person who cries for every single small matter..

and so we hugged, and cried more.

thoughts of our orientation banner.. all the rejected proposals. the colourful-yet-childish designs.. all of them. They all just flashed into my mind, uncontrollably and we kept crying and crying..

I guess for me, i really came out of my comfort zone sometime late last year. I was never so confident of myself in front of the council at the beginning. We had some politics here and there, but after a whole term, i'm sure we can all agree that we can put those bad times aside and treasure the remaining days we have with our peers and juniors.

Being in council has really taught me A LOT of things.
Nothing is ever so easy in any organisation. It takes 100% effort and commitment to pull through everything that you're involved in.

When i pinned the badge for BelleJoy, tears welled up in my eyes already..
i told her "congrats girl. Im sure you can do it, Hon Gen Secretary!" i remember last year, when preben and janice told me smth like that, i was smiling from ear to ear, but this year, it was different. I think BelleJoy will do a great job as the new secretary, and i hope that her council term would be a an enriching experience that she'll be missing every second of it next year, when she passes on her duties to her successor.

It may just be a small note, it may just be a little fruitplus sweet, but it really shows that you care. sorry to those that i have yet to give, yours will come soon. No worries, i just need the time to write proper messages, long long ones..

Thanks to one and all for penning down your thoughts in the notes/ cards or even verbally. Im really happy that i was there for you guys whenever you needed me and that i was there to brighten up your dull and dreary days..

To the 9th Council: i'm sure that you guys will never forget the times we had together. The tough and rough times we experienced. The good and hearty times we always looked forward to and had. I would say that Council is the only CCA which gives each and every councillor a different experience each year. Im sure that even if we go back as councillors in the 10/11th council, our lives will be different and our experiences will vary. Anyhow, thanks for supporting me all the way, all the encouragement, the helpings (thanks nic for helping me with the admin stuff), MEXCO (for always asking if im over-taxed) and the FOURTHO!!

Well, eventhough the 4 of us are not that close now, coz i've been busy and was rather distant from you guys, i'm sure that we'll never forget the days we spent together since last year. The times at botanics, the christmas presents, the dinners, the times at LJS, the times in school together, i'm sure they will forever be etched in our hearts. Im sorry if i come across as one who has found another clique or anything, but no, i havent. You guys are the top 3 people that i love in council! That day after rehearsal, i felt so distant with you guys, and when i asked smth, nobody answered even though you guys heard (im sure), i really felt the coldness towards me and i wondered to myself, if it was largely my fault for what happened that day. I guess it's a misunderstanding, and i treat you guys all the same way since last year, just that now im more busy and need to be committed to other things. It's really sad that when i looked thru the photos i took with people during invest, i didnt even take a shot with the 3 of you. It's like WHAT HAPPENED. omg. -___- Tears just roll down, even now, when im typing. I hope things will be back to normal again, where the happy times reign, without any doubts amongst the 4 of us. And one thing's clear, both he and me are not really close anymore, the most is just a hi, bye, how you doing, you're okay, that kinda thing. I may be physically there in the mornings to sit with him and the others, but we're not that close anymore. God knows why. And even if we're still close and everything, friendship with you guys is irreplaceable. No worries alright guys? ((= Love you guys ALOT ALOT ALOT!

Let's start over. Hi. I'm Rekha. Im Seventeen, and birthday's 26th May. I'm a Gemini.

To the 10th Council: Hey dudes! Well, time to rise up as leaders. No more excuses for not taking initiatives, no more saying that you don't know about situations at hand. Plan all the events well, work together with each other and really enjoy and appreciate the times you guys have with one another. Really. Council term is so short, it may seem like a year is a whole lot of time but trust me, once events come in and things get messier, time flies and ZOOOOOOOOOMMMMM, next year April/ May will come and you'd be looking back at the times you spent with the 10th and some of the 9ths. Please do be good mentors to the 11th councillors, like how the 9th was to you guys and guide them along so that they will know what to do when you guys leave them next year. Study hard alright, you guys start out as a team of 40. Hope that you'll remain intact and that everyone gets promoted to year 2 and all 40 of you be present for Invest 2010. ((=

To my dear friend, im pretty worried for you. Looking at how things are now, you don't look like you're going to be enjoying your council term ahead. I know you didnt choose to be there, but i think it's all God-planned. I know you've got your other commitments and all, but do spend much time, working with the 10th councillors, through thick and thin. At the end of the day, you'll wanna look back and think that you've done a great job and that being in council is something that will be dear to you, even after 10 to 15 years. Really glad to hear that i've been a great mentor to you and i hope that you'll do me proud. (omg, im tearing) Well, i dunno. But i don't feel that we're very close anymore. Perhaps, we're all busy and stuff but i hope our friendship will last till the very end, like how they always say that firend-ship is the ship that never sinks. ((= Love ya. All the best for college day, will always be supporting you.

Well, i guess this week had been an emotional one for me and for a lot others too. Seeing the 10th councillors wear that golden nametag, and us not, was a little awkward at first. But i believe we'll soon get used to it.. after all, we had our turn, now it's theirs. Go 10th SC!
