Prison Break - The Final Break!

Prison Break is the most significant and interesting show on Earth.
I know, many people get bored out after the first 2 seasons..
Coz they were based on Scoffield getting into prison to get his brother, Burrows out.
And then, he meets Sarah Tancredi.
The prison Nurse.
Guy meets girl, girl loves guy.
Guy loves girl.
They start a relationship.
Of course, she helped him escape from FoxRiver prison, so that they could run for their lives, away to another area and be safe.

As always, there were complications.
And they end up in Panama.

Season 4 was slightly different - okay, wayyyy different.
Scoffield, Burrows, Bagwell, Sucre, Mahone all renuite to try to take down the "company" by returning SCYLLA to the rightful owner/ company, that will bring good to our Earth.

It had complications. It was full of suspense.
It was myseterious. It was interesting.
It was the show that made me glued to the TV for that one hour from tuesdays to thursdays weekly. One by one the episodes went.
And the story got more and more interesting.
There was lotsa backstabbing.
Lots of hatred. Lots of jealousy.
Lots of kidnaps. Lots of deaths. Lots of sacrifices.
Lots of Michael Scoffield's witty plans and executions.

But above all, PrisonBreak is not just about 2 brothers trying to break out of prison, and become free for the rest of their lives.
It's about Love.
It's about Friendship.
It's about loyalty, trust and relationships.

It's about our world today.

Theodore Bagwell, also known as T-Bag, was the bad guy since the start.
Yes, undoubtedly. But. I guess the message that the director wanted to bring out through this character, is that even bad guys have a heart for others. We see so many incidences of T-Bag helping Michael out, even though he was working for the General. He led Gretchen's kid and sister free, even though he had to kidnap and kill them. He didn't let Michael down, by allowing him to proceed further into getting Scylla through his office doors. He was always loyal to Gretchen, at the start, and continued to keep to his promises that he wouldn't kill her.

And then there was Alex Mahone. Mahone was part of the Police operations before put behind bars. Together with Michael, he went on the search for Scylla as well. Indeed, he trusted Michael a lot. and his friendship with the brothers were put to the test on various occasions. Even though, he wanted so badly to backstab Michael to get his job back, he thought about the shit he'd gone through, how Michael had saved his ass from the prison. How Michael headed the whole project and kept his lovely Pam safe from the evil people. Alex Mahone, is one of the most amazing characters in PrisonBreak, someone whom we can look up to, someone who withstands the thick and thin, in the name of friendship and trust. The last few scenes in episode 24 of season 4, showed the Mahone actually knew that Michael wouldn't make it through, with Sarah from the prison. He thought about it, and realised that he had to do what he should do - to let Sarah out of prison, without the company capturing Michael and Sarah, his 2 best friends.

Sucre was another character - lovable one. Even though he wasnt playing a really major role, he was always there for Michael and Lincoln. He wasnt just a mere accomplice/ follower. He was one who sacrificed his life at certain points of times so that Michael could run away free, to plan the next step into the business. Love him. And his bald head is freaking cool. hahaha.


Sarah Tancredi. I felt that she was such a gullible character. Having a woman, to play a major role in PrisonBreak was a deliberate attempt. She was the one who drove the entire story, after the brothers re-united. It started off with Gretchen and the company "killing" her. Michael found out she wasnt killed, and was in search of her, and revengefully take down the company, for "killing" his love. Tancredi first started out as a nurse at prison. Quiet, shy and afraid of the prisoners, she fell in love with Michael and both of them vowed never to separate from each other. Of course, some see her as a distraction to all the action, but I feel that she had a large role to play in the entire 4 seasons. Did i mention how i didnt find her pretty at the start, but evolved to become prettier and bolder as the seasons came by... hahahaha.

Lincoln Burrows. He was always the handsome one. SERIOUS! He played the big brother of Michael Scoffield. And all the while, we thought they were real brothers, whose mum had left them while they were young. Left them to fend for themselves, to earn a living while they were schooling. It's a pity for them brothers to grow up that way, but it sure was worth it, coz they both emerged as witty and intelligent agents who could think of anything that could help them salvage the situation. Of course, Burrows was never as smart as Scoffield. He made so many blunders in the seasons.. caused a lot of pain.. and trouble. But that's what made the show more interesting ehh?

Last but not least, Michael Scoffield!


He, I swear, is the most smartest guy on Earth. Too bad that he's a gay. C'mon, you've got Sarah to love!! They look compatible too!! ((= Hahaha. Michael Scoffield, was not the main character of the show. Burrows was. So that was mis-conception number #1. Misconception number #2 was that burrows and scoffield are brothers in the show. Their mum revealed to us in season 4 that Lincoln was never her son and that only Michael was. But. That didnt stop the "brothers" from saving each other in danger. Burrows was put to the test in one of the episodes to go against Michael in their operations to capture Scylla. However, after much thinking through, he realised that he could always count on his brother and that the company is nothing but a fraud. So, that led him to rejoin his brother and Sarah tancredi to overthrow the company.


On the whole, PrisonBreak was such an interesting show!
It just kept us in suspense, and tension was escalating in every episode. It was like an adrenaline pump that never stopped till the end of the 4-seasoned show.
I watched episodes 22 to 24 of season 4, 5 times over the past few days. No doubt, they were the most saddening episodes of the season. Everytime, tears will just roll down, like free-flow. It's just hard to hold back those tears. Oh Michael.

To see Michael risk his life to save Sarah, his wife. At the end of episode 22, they showed a 10-minute clip of what life was like 4 years after all that had happened. We see baby Michael, okay Toddler Michael with his mom, Sarah, Lincoln his uncle as well as Sucre and Mahone who turn up to pay respects to Michael Scoffield Sr. Indeed Michael died at the end of season 4. Nobody would want him to, DUH. But it was done deliberately. To show that not everything have happy endings. It also showed the continuity of the show, through the birth of little Michael. There was elements of FAMILY and BONDING. and the idea of permanence VS temporary.

I remember how Michael told Sarah in the last few seconds with her..
M: When i plug the cables in Sarah, you've got to run for your life.
S: No Michael. I'm not going, unless you're coming.
M: (The complication of this procedure is that) someone's got to stay behind.
S: -All shaken-
M: I'll always be with you. -Touches sarah's pregnant stomach-

Awww. So sweet right. Seriously, no words can express how much Michael has done for everyone. Too bad for him he had the brain tumour disease, and he knew that he would not be able to live for long. Hence, his decision to end his life, for the good cause of getting Sarah out of prison and to let her and baby michael live on forever.

To me, the last PrisonBreak, season 4 was the most impactful season. and it was such a different ending.
Prison Break is Love.

There's still so much i wanna say about his sequel.
But they're all messy in my head.
You should watch it too.
When the 4season-in-one-jumbo-pack-DVD is out, i'll go get it.
After As, i'll be having PrisonBreak Marathon-ing in my little house.
