title:{Chapter ___ : Retail}

Hello, my long lost, forgotten and abandoned poor blog.

Things have been rather busy lately, with WORK.
Got a job at Forever21, Wisma branch and so I worked there for like 8days?
The environment is fine, with the exception of the AirCon.
The company's pretty cool, and they're friendly nice people.
I could always get the FIRST glance at the NewArrivals, the nicely straight and "ironed" tops and jeans/ dresses and skirts, ones which are fresh from the delivery boxes, free of women's perfumes or sweat-stench. Once in a while, some staff dicounts, i mean, c'mon, anyone would KILL to get a jeans with further discount, one that was originally priced at 19bucks only! Yet, somehow, the cons of working there much surpassed the little bits of pros I've mentioned that I handed in my resignation letter soon enough. Of course, I got the stares, the 'im-so-disappointed-and-pissed-with-you' look, and the frequent asking of "why you quit so fast siaaa", but I guess one has to choose between the 2 options as of present. Work VS Driving.

Driving.

Though many may have the misconception that driving can still be done WITH work, I'd say, you haven't experienced much. With shifts that are oh-so-long and ohmygod-so-tiring (at least to me), I couldnt help but give it up, for I was more interested and committed to driving.

"With all these complains and worries, why sign up in the first place?"

You really wanna know?

Driving was the main, first and foremost, reason. But of course, there's more to writing and submitting that black-and-white letter. Being extremely new to the retail-industry, it is already obvious that one needs to get accepted into a job to try it out, before he could make any judgements as to whether retail is or not for him. Fresh outta Peejay, I always wanted an Admin job, but companies rather employ people who are bilingual (meaning english and Chinese) or students who had Diplomas from the polys we have in Singapore. It's as if, the A level cert that we're about to get soon, very soon, means nothing to the working world. It's such an irony, for we suffered so much in the last 2 years, slogging and mugging for as hard as we could to get that piece of laminated paper, but some people just prefer the cert of Diploma. Admin job aside, my friends were telling me to try retail, coz it was firstly, and honestly, the easiest to get in, but then again, the most tiresome. I guess, we all have our own preferences and downfalls, and maybe it's just me, the pampered little princess in the house who cannot stand not-resting for 6-7hours straight at work. I swear the first day at work, and I've already done more housework than I've done at home, in my 18plus years of living. And that "cleaning" meant the wiping of all the glass tables and surfaces in the store, with a wet cloth. Call me spoilt, whatever! Why would I wanna get home everyday with such tortured feet, and deprived sleep that all my mind thinks of is Work and work alone. I was so disconnected from the world, both virtually and physically, and often much, I missed my close friends. There were the fears and the thoughts that the committee/ staff will dislike/ alienate away from me, but life still has to go on with all these social deprivations. It took me sometime to prolong typing out that letter, but I did it anyways. Now I know who hates me, who rolls their eyes at the sight of me, but who cares! We're not born to please everybody and so be it. ((=

I do miss all of you guys, that's for sure. For the times we spent together might be minimal and teeny weensy, but I'll always remember your vivid faces, the smiles and the frowns, as I close this little short but meaningful and lesson-teaching chapter of my life! At least I have something to tell about my stint in a retail outlet, be it the advantages or disadvantages.

title:{hello World}

HAPPY 2010! <3

I have to confess something, I have yet to blog about the 2009 events, especially Prom, etc. But i will, I just need to find the right time and mood to. HAHA! (not an excuse okayyy)

Anyhow, the crazy bunch of us (wanru.guy3.nan.suanne.zijian.samuel.me) headed over to Esplanade Outdoor area, right next to the Float@Marina to catch the FIREWORKS! Of course we had to be there early, so we found a good spot, before all those camera guys came and invaded our territory with their tripods and DSLRS. And by 8, everyone was so squeezed in those little areas, that I swear people can just faint with the lack of fresh air. It was kinda boring sometimes, so we self-entertained by singing songs. There was this American couple behind us who decided to join in along at certain points, and it was funny, yet cool.
After that, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BOOOOOOOM!

Fireworks came alive. We were mesmerised. We just looked, with jaws open! I love fireworks! Nan and I were talking, and I was telling her that I want fireworks for my wedding! <3 I shall upload 2 mins of the fireworks in video on fb, so do check it out once it's uploaded. (perhaps in 10hours' time?)

After Countdown, we joined in the MOSHH to walk to City Hall mrt. I SWEAR, it was so packed like sardines that we were literally sticking to the person in front of us. And wanru suddenly fell down on the steps, and we were OHHHHHH, and the people surrounding us thought we were singing or smth, they echoed back! It was such a funny sight, REALLY. And phone lines were JAMMMMMED. Couldnt send out sms. So i ended up calling those who are closer to me to wish them Happy2010! ((= And my friends were exceptionally funny when I was on the line with Eugin.

Headed to Clark Quay via train. And we went to ARENA. The drinks were NO KICK. LOUSY SHIT la. ARENA was cool initially. There was this live band from the US, singing for us. And they sing and dance pretty well! So we danced and danced, and shaked hips and swayed till we became so sian at about 3plus 4. The music wasnt that good at that time too.. that's when we felt, ZIRCA/REBEL IS THE BOMB. hahahhaa. We went out, into the Central area, and waited for Aidan to come say hi. Tipsy turvy him, came with his int friend. LOL! After that, we slacked around outside and INSIDE the mrt station, to wait for the trains to operate, and we headed home. I practically slept thru the ENTIRE train journey, with my touch plugged in. SO SLEEPY. Oh yes, have I mentioned? Im becoming nocturnal. I sleep at like 3plus 4plus 5plus. Wake up at 11plus 12 plus 1. O M G.

Eventhough we paid like 42bucks for ARENA, I think it wasn't that all worth it. So much for thinking there was ladies night. HMPH.

BUT, spending COUNTDOWN with my close friends is a FIRST for me, coz i've always been countingdown at my home with my family, or at my grandma's place at Outram where I could see the fireworks, back when they were at Siloso side. I really enjoyed myself, despite the sweat, the mosh and the pain of waiting so bloody long for that 8mins of fireworks display! ((=

So now into the NewYear, what are my resolutions?
Like I even follow them... -______-
But this year, my first New Year's resolution is to FULFILL WHATEVER I'VE WRITTEN DOWN!

1. New Year's Resolution must be followed
2. Lose weight (DUHHHH, since we're kinda free till Uni)
3. PERSONAL
4. Never neglect my Family and Friends!
5. Visit NVPS, PLMGSS and PJC at least ONCE each.

I have 5 for now. HAHAHA, one's personal. So if you're interested, just ask me. i MAY tell you. hahahhaa. ((=
