"Hello, Hi, this is Rekha, calling from Prudential..."
And so, thursday was my last day at Prudential. Mixed feelings, actually. On one hand, there was no motivation to work coz the commission is 0%, and there was kinda like a pay-cut. Also, it was boring to keep repeating the "script" over and over time and time again. But on the other, work was quite slack; we were sitting down 24/7, taking more than one hour lunch breaks at times, and kept refilling our waterbottles to our heart's content whether warm or cold.
One thing bad about this job is that you got to have a high threshold for rejection. There were many a times people just hung up on me, or scolded me telling them not to disturb them again, but what can I do? That's my job right? LOLS! Sometimes, it's the leads that has a tad-bit of problem, yet it was always my fault. Some people claimed that I called them like 5-10times already when that call i made was my FIRST. But seriously, through it all, I really understand fully the pros and cons of such telemarketting that in future, anyone who calls me and offers such "freebies" I will gladly take it, for I understand their angst. Whether or not, they get commissions outta me signing up or whatever, I don't care. I just want them to feel happy that a person whom they called agreed to help them out. And that brings my joy.
Anyhow, I'll miss my dear colleagues. My boss, Karen, Marcus and the rest.

Karen and CarolChin.
Karen is such an awesome P.A. She's like EW's MOTHER I TELL YOU! She knows everything and anythng under the sun. Just ask her about policy #304858, and she'll tell you all the requirements and benefits bla bla. I'm dead serious! HWAITING!
My awesome Table Partner! ((=
I tell you, she totally makes my day man. She's SO FUNNY! And her all-time favourite sentence is, "DO YOU KNOW... YOU SUCK!?" She's a clean-freak, so she always has this MrMckenic/ Sanitizer in her bag that we'll use to sanitise our phones before we start calling. And we're forever laughing at i-cant-remember-what. OH OH, we're always playing our Iphone/Touch games during work, secretly slacking away once we've made 3-4 appointments. HAHAHA! ((= Love you loads girl. <3 We're always talking about people and how their low EQs annoy us SO MUCH.

Introducing the friendliest gangster-lookalike around, Don!
I swear, I was so scared of him since day 1. He has this DONTYOUDARETALKTOME face and NEVER smiles. I rmbr the first day EW intro-ed me to him, he merely said "Hi" without even looking at me. How rude I thought. And first week went past, with me and Carol NOT talking to him at all. Now i feel bad we didn't lunch with him. I only got to talk to him proper when week 2 came around. We were outside PruCafe, and I was like, "you're still studying?" and that's how we got to know each other better. He claims I have the ZOUK face. (seriously?) hahahha! Knowing him for the past few weeks, he's really an interesting yet funny guy, at times unpredictable and charming in a way. It's a pity that just as we colleagues grew closer, we had to go our own ways. p.s. Don't waste your money on cigs yeahh?

STANLEY! He looks so young lor please!
This guy, I clearly remember him as the guy who would facebook 24/7 in the office, doing nothing, but merely staring at us from inside his little office room. I mean, c'mon, who'd have thought we'd become friends? hahaha! It's coz of people like him that reiterates my point of liking older guys. Somehow, guys my age now, are so weird. I dont know if weird is the right word, but they're so hard to read and understand. It's not just one guy okay (don't YOU think that i'm arrowing you or anything, it's in general!) It's quite a number. And I thought only girls will be so petty and all PMS-ey. BUT NOOOO. Anyhow, back to Stanley, he's a cool leftie, (yay!) and he's mature in thought. And i'm honoured to have a friend/ colleague like him.
Of course, there were other colleagues, like WeiXing, Charles, Steve... But I didn't get to take pics with them. But I'll forever remember all those that we've done. All the shit we've gone through tgther, and of course, the happy times!
I feel that students who wanna wotk part-time, should try out telemarketting, coz you really get exposed to a whole new different world out there, and from Feb till now, my short stint there, I've learnt A LOT. To toughen up, and rise to the occasion with such confidence and zeal, that even admin/ retail jobs cannot serve the same purpose. Now I look forward to the Uni days that are to come soon.. A new chapter, new beginnings, a whole new adventure.
What do we do now? We've taken that tiny step, and we've made it official. What's supposed to come next? I feel we're even more distant now than we were on our first meeting, under the watchful eyes of John.I don't think we're supposed to be THAT far apart, are we?
Peejay's College Day was yesterday. We were made to come at 1pm, but ended up slacking all the way till 3plus when we finally moved to the hall, after what they called "briefing" at LT4. Got to meet up with so many teachers and friends, juniors and new J1s. It was fun, just catching up with everyone, talking about how our lives have been and how they'll unfold in the near future. Sadly, i'm still undecided - NUS or SMU. Hmph. On the sidenote, the school's exterior changed quite a bit, like there are many NEW stuff along the corridors/ paths. Kinda refreshing I guess. Okay, now PEEKTURES!
MEXCO, 9th SC.
WHOA, my hair is totally golden-y in here. No wonder everyone kept commenting that I changed my hair colour and style altogether. HAHAH!
MISS TOH! my favourite Chem teacher. THANKS FOR THE LIFT!
Yuhui, my guest for the day. ((= I'm so sorry for what happened, but really, thanks for coming yeahh? <3
NANDHINI RADHAKRISHNAN, came back from India, SINGLE AND AVAILABLE. hahaha! <3
I was so sad though, didn't manage to talk to Ms Ng, Ms Oh, Mr Goh and others. DAMN!
Perhaps, I'll go to school one fine day to meet the 11th Secretary and see the 10th's handover stuff. Kinda like my duty ehh? ((=
I GOT MY LICENCE! CLASS 3A! ((= Yay.

I'd definitely miss BBDC. Like how I used to take the shuttle bus from Gombak for lessons, and how fun the instructors were, though some were scary and ONE definitely made me develop a phobia for him. But I guess, ultimately, I'm thankful for every one of them who has taught me, even for mere 100minutes, coz as I can recall, I learnt something new every lesson. Now this goes to show that people who wanna take up driving should learn from SCHOOLS, and not PRIVATE, coz of the various advantages you can reap. Firstly, you have a whole stage or 10modules for circuit courses, and you practise your circuit stuff like EVERY lessons from stage 3 onwards. For private learners, you can only enter the circuit twice in your lifetime, and you think that's sufficient for you to ace those obstacles. Be warned, circuit courses need ample practice and good judgement, if not kiss your licence goodbye. The instructors at BBDC are really good, they have what it takes to teach and influence a new batch of learners everytime and they're interesting people. Even though most of them are from you-know-where, it doesn't really matter coz ultimately, it's how they carry themselves that matters. We're NEVER judged and labelled by the grades/ education level, eventhough that's what majority of Singaporeans look out for. I strongly believe that anyone who has a good character, and a bunch of positivity and high EQ is able to be successful in life.

Work has resumed, and so I've got to wake up at 8am everyday. But it's been fun, at least I have a partner at work so that my life there isn't dead boring or emo-ey. And after work that day, I met up with HANNAH, aka Yu Hui, and we headed to Somerset. EVERYONE SHOULD HEAD DOWN TO CENTREPOINT TO SEE THE PICTURES OF KIM HYUN JOONG. HE IS LOVE ((= He looks a little ang-moh-ish in some of the photos. Even though it's weird to take pictures with pillars along Centrepoint, I didn't really care about the stares/ glares passers-by shot at me. I just smiled, and took countless photos WITH and OF KHJ. <3 Yu hui ahh, don't be so stressed la kayy! you'll do fine. I think you're just pushing yourself too hard. Time to become stronger so that the battles are won everyday. All the best for FTT. ((= And hopefully, we can meet again next week, Wednesday perhaps?

And yesterday, I headed down to NUS with Preethi and her friend for the Science Open House. Oh yes, did I mention, I got accepted into NUS Science Faculty. Before going for the OH, I was 65% for NUS, and 35% for NTU. With an open mind, I went there, and boy, I realised how flexible their system is. Indeed, it gives me more freedom to explore different avenues in biology/ chemistry. As opposed to NTU, where I'll have a fixed course, i'd only be able to learn in a one-way street, and who knows, i might hate what im learning in few years to come. Also, NUS offers a minor in Forensics, and I'm going to opt for that. NTU has forensics as part of the year 1 module, but if I do well enough in NUS, i hear that I can convert my minor into a major, having DOUBLE MAJOR. How cool is that. hahaha! For both unis, there is an option of double degree from year 2 onwards. I'd choose psychology, but that's a see-first, coz really, uni life isn't much a bed of roses. Of course, i'd study hard, I don't wanna experience deja vu yet again when the time comes, but I also wanna have a fun uni life, for they always say that what you do in uni is the MOST IMPORTANT thing that affects who I am/ will be in the future. Having said that, I'll work hard to get into honours year 4 so that I wont graduate from NUS with a pathetic bachelor's degree only. NUS' campus is really old-fashioned and stuff like that, but i guess since it's established and renowned, education wise, it's going to benefit me. Who cares about the school building when the education is tip-top right? I remember how i didn't like plmgss in sec 1 coz the building and colours were ugly. But then, i enjoyed the culture and the company there that all the good and happy times surpassed the bad exteriors the school had before renovation. So as of now, I'm 85-90% for NUS! OH DID I MENTION I WANNA GO FOR SUMMER PROGRAMMES AT NUS?
After that, met up with Suanne, Gayathri and Wanru for a girls night out, and it was a great reunion, though a really short one. I must say, we're all going in separate paths in the next few months/ years, but I hope we'll always stay true to ourselves, and be friends till the end of time. We didn't snap photos sadly, so I had to upload our first ever LOVELY outing at Botanics. Brings back memories huh? ((=
Going to meet Preethi, Lauren and Rachel later for badminton and F1! I hope Button does well this time! Vettel too! And hamilton should just crash into some wall and get booted out. That would bring so much joy to my night tonight. EXCITED MUCH! ((=
On the side note, I just have to say this. For some reason, I think we're not close anymore. I feel so distant when I text you, I don't know if you realise, but yeahh, it's just this weird feeling that I'm communicating with some stranger I randomly met along the road or smth. That shouldn't be it right? We're having worlds-apart interests, and somehow, there isn't that special connection any more. You, by any chance, feel the same way? Coz if so, then I'm certain we still have slight common interests, despite the vastly different ideas of our future.
